We’re not even going to say “in case you missed it” because you couldn’t have missed the Kanye West meltdown that’s been going on. And no, we’re not going to hyperlink to any of it.
There’s a part of us that likes watching narcissists get their comeuppance but with Kanye, it feels like his meltdown is related to mental illness or substance abuse, neither of which we take lightly. To that end, Ta-Nehisi Coates had a great column on Kanye that you should take a few minutes and read.
So, rather than pile on Kanye, the Kardashians, and how they are what’s wrong with society, we wanted to try and reach Kanye to bring him back. Now, obviously Kanye isn’t going to listen to us, but maybe he’d listen to some rap icons? Here, in their words, is a message to Kanye from Andre 3000, Eminem, Nas, Rakim, Styles P, and Tupac Shakur.
Dear Kanye,
What could you say as the Earth gets further and further away?
